Autumn in the French Alps – family walk

The leaves are falling and at the weekend we took the kids for a great family walk through the in the woods in the Lignarre valley on the way up to Ornon. 

The path is easy to walk with a gentle incline at the start and steeper paths and climbs up into the gorge later on.  The path follows the river and there were parts of the river where the streams running to it were safe to play and build dams across.  As you climb the path crosses the river over three great bridges and waterfalls which really captured the kids imagination.   

We spent most of the morning walking out and back and playing in the river.  The kids loved it.  The start of the walk was a few minutes drive from our accommodation in Bourg d’Oisans.
